Custom Voice Command Creation

This is perhaps the most significant and powerful difference between Premium and the Dragon Professional Products (Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional, Dragon NaturallySpeaking Legal, and Dragon® Medical Practice Edition). Dragon Professional Products allows for the creation of custom voice commands that truly save you time.

Almost any repetitive task you perform on your computer, with almost any application, are accomplished in a fraction of the time by taking advantage of Dragon Professional Products’ custom voice command feature. These custom commands are also deployed organization-wide.

Smart Text & Graphics Shortcuts

Lets you instantly define the variable values in any boilerplate text, or have Dragon prompt you with variable value choices. Dragon allows you to create text shortcuts with voice field variables, providing even more efficiency with your dictation.

Smart Commands

Allows you to change the meaning of a command depending on the location of the cursor.

Macro Recorder

Record and recall your actions by using the Macro Recorder to record a series of mouse movements, clicks, and/or keystrokes and recall the actions using a single voice command.

Step-By-Step Commands

Automate routine tasks using step by step scripting to create voice commands one step at a time, even if you are not a programmer.

Advanced Scripting Commands

For Visual Basic and advanced scripted commands.  This is the ultimate speech-enabling command interface.  Speech-enable forms and applications using the Advanced Scripting tool to make forms and applications that can be navigated by voice (or have Speakeasy Solutions Inc. create such scripts for you).

Import/Export Commands

Commands can be imported and exported between users and versions — this becomes extremely important when upgrading or creating a new user profile.

Third Party Proofreading

If you have a user who does not wish to perform their own proofreading (they wish to simply dictate), their voice is saved with the document (to a network location) which will be proofread by an assistant. The user’s Dragon profile is also improved, minimizing future errors and saving the assistant even more time in the future.

Digital Voice Recordings

Both the audio and the transcribed text of a digital voice recording can be sent to a transcriptionist for review. An Auto-Transcribe Folder Agent can manage text and synchronized audio flow for third-party review, which streamlines the process of correcting another person’s dictation.

Correction Only Mode

Dragon lets those who correct the dictations of others create a “no dictation available” profile, which means that they don’t have to go through any kind of audio setup, no matter what dictation source the speaker used. The correctionist opens the synchronized dictation files to make corrections by hand, which contributes to the optimization of the speaker’s profile over time.

Easily Dictate Direct & with Digital Recorder

For those who use a microphone directly in real time dictation (usually for document creation, reporting and email), plus a digital recorder while away from the office, an assistant receives the digital audio dictation by email or LAN, subsequently proofreads Dragon’s transcription and provides the user with a finished document. Dragon’s transcription may be performed automatically and proofread when convenient for the assistant.

Multiple Vocabularies

Although all editions of Dragon use the same core engine, the ability to create multiple custom vocabularies in the Dragon Professional Products increases accuracy by at least 5% (infinitely more when using Dragon® Medical over a non-medical variant of Dragon).

Medical practitioners tend to create three main vocabularies based on their needs:

• practice/specialty specific,
• general medical for medical-legals, and
• non-medical for meeting minutes or email.

Using a subject specific email increases accuracy dramatically.

Multi-computer Use (Network Ready)

The Dragon Professional Products makes your user profile available anywhere on a network, via mapped drive, UNC path or http, and automatically synchronizes updates and adaptations centrally.

This is absolutely imperative in a medical clinic or office where Dragon is used in multiple exam rooms.  If a lawyer or professional uses a notebook (when travelling) and an office desktop, it is very convenient to synchronize the Dragon user profiles used on both.

• installations of Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Organization-Wide Custom Vocabularies

If deploying Dragon organization-wide, Dragon Professional Products allows for the creation of a custom vocabulary usable by every user as a basis to finesse their personal vocabulary. Organization-wide vocabularies are enhanced with organization and region specific phrases, removing the need for each user to add such phrases over time.

Organization-Wide Custom Word Lists

Instead of a custom vocabulary, a custom word list is used to augment a vocabulary without affecting the individual user’s writing style. This is fairly key, and allows the organization’s IT administrator to maintain a list of words and phrases that are specific to all users or groups of users. It is indeed a pleasant surprise for a user to turn Dragon on in the morning and find new relevant phrases transcribe perfectly as a result of such behind the scenes maintenance.

Voice Notations

The Dragon Professional Products allows users to include special instructions for third-party editors within Microsoft Word.
